Invisible Tape-Ins Installation: Step by Step
Now that you understand the “why" behind Invisible Tape-In extensions, let’s break down the installation! As you’ll see below, the process mirrors that of our Signature Tape-In.
- 1. Start with clean, dry hair.
- 2. Section the hair with a T-shape parting. Take a piece equal in length and width to the first extension.
- 3. Flip the section up. Remove the protective backing from the band, being careful not to touch the adhesive.
- 4. Place the extension about ¼″ away from the scalp, with the adhesive side facing up. Roll the natural hair down and over the adhesive band.
- 5. Next, remove the protective backing from the second weft. Place the second extension directly on top of the first weft, with the adhesive side facing down.
- 6. Continue the row and move up the head vertically.
*For fine or thinning hair, place Single Sided Tape beneath the first extension to secure, instead of proceeding to Step 5.

- 7. How long should you avoid washing your hair?
- After installation, we recommend waiting 72 hours before your first wash to allow the bonds to fully set. If your hair is washed too soon the tapes could slip.
After that, try to wash your hair just 1-2 times per week. Remember, because the scalp’s natural oils don’t travel to hair extensions, over-washing can lead to dryness.
