Tips for Achieving that Seamless Finish
Posted by Donna Bella on
When it comes to achieving the perfect hair extension look, the installation and blending are only part of the story. To draw all the elements together, finish off your work with a quick and seamless styling job that your client can recreate at home. Here’s how:
Match the texture.
Donna Bella hair extensions are made from 100% human hair, so the look and feel of the hair should match perfectly with your client’s. That being said, there may be subtle differences in the texture of the hair, even after the blending portion of the installation. To unify the texture of the hair extensions with the texture of the natural hair, try curling the hair into loose ringlets which you can tousle into beachy waves. This hairstyle is a popular, of-the-moment choice, and it helps to fuse the layers of hair into flowy, cascading strands. When it comes to achieving the same look at home, advise your client to sleep with their hair in a braid (preferably wrapped in a silk scarf or nightcap), especially after they’ve washed their hair.
Give it a lived-in feel.
Show your client what their hair is capable of looking like every day by introducing that lived-in feel right in the salon. You can do this by spritzing some texturizing spray or dry shampoo near the roots of the hair, then tousling it with your fingers. This can also help to match the hair extension texture to the natural hair, as Donna Bella hair extensions may be smoother and more hydrated than natural hair (especially if your client is a fan of dyes and heat styling tools).
Keep it soft and flexible.
No matter what style you’re trying to achieve, you never want to fuss with the hair to the point that it becomes frizzy from excess friction or stiff from excess product. The best hairstyle is one that can easily be pulled back into a bun or ponytail, since this demonstrates maximum comfort and flexibility. To achieve this, simply moisturize the mid-lengths and ends of the hair and hair extensions using a leave-in conditioner, oil, or hair serum. Not only will this keep the most vulnerable parts of the hair safe, soft, and smooth, it’ll also further disguise the hair extensions by helping the natural hair blend smoothly into the new long mane.
