Can you believe this is our last blog of 2014? It feels like it went by way too fast—but then again, time does fly when you’re having fun, doesn’t it? Since this is the last blog of the year, you know we had to write one about the New Year’s Eve festivities. While some like to spend it at home cozying up with family or a significant other, others enjoy the big party and nightlife that can only be experienced once a year (at least the ball drop and first kiss of the year part). So for your night out on the town, here are some hair tricks to keep your hair looking fab through the new year!
Curl from the middle out. When styling your hair extensions with your wand or curling iron, try to curl starting from the middle out. Doing this will allow your curls to last longer because this technique provides a better hold.
Make bobby pins stick all night. Take a paper towel and place the bobby pins you will be using on top. Spray the bobby pins with hairspray to give them some stickiness. Place them in your hair soon after they are dry.
Use a toothbrush. Everyone knows the struggle of flyaways, especially right after taking a blow drier or straight iron to your hairline. The best way to tame your flyaways is by using a toothbrush. Yes you read that right. Spray some hairspray on a toothbrush (preferably one that hasn’t been used) and use it to tame your baby hairs and flyaways.
Blow dry with cool air. If you’re planning on just a blow dried style, try switching the temperatures on your blow dryer back and forth or giving your hair a blast of cool air right after applying heat. The cool air helps your style stay intact.
