The Risky Razor
Posted by Donna Bella on
Recently we’ve had a customer complain about the fact that her ends were frayed and split after her installation. Of course she was furious with the experience. After chatting with her and asking her some questions, we came to the conclusion that it wasn’t a manufacturing defect, it was her stylist that, in fact, had ruined the integrity of the hair. Our first clue was that she mentioned it was AFTER installation. What sealed the nail on the coffin: she mentioned her stylist used a razor. Because it was her stylist who ruined her Donna Bella hair extensions, there was nothing we could do. We sympathized with her knowing she had spent some serious money on what she thought was going to be an amazing investment.
We promise you, we stand behind our product. Each pack of Donna Bella Hair is inspected before it gets shipped. If you ever have a bad experience with our hair, we’ll be more than happy to replace the hair if it’s indeed a fault in our manufacturing. One of the worst things we have to do is tell a customer that it was the stylist’s fault (we LOVE our stylists). So, if you’re a stylist choosing to use a razor for blending, please be aware of the following:
- Never cut a blunt or straight line with either shears or razors. This will absolutely ruin the ends of the hair extensions.
- Do not use an old blade, that way you’re not pulling or distressing the hair. New blades create beautiful soft lines for hair extensions when blending.
- Always use a soft motion.
We strongly suggest taking our online certification classes so that you never find yourself in a mess like this one.. If you’re lucky enough to attend a Pro Series class with our Master Educator, Ruben, we’ll make sure you leave as a Pro knowing all the ins and outs of hair extensions, like how to avoid these kinds of situations.
You know the drill, leave your comments and questions in the boxes below if you want answers. Thanks Donna Bellas!
