Options, Options: How to Navigate Donna Bella’s Extension Methods
Posted by Donna Bella on
I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but Donna Bella offers quite a few different extension methods. Between I-Link, Kera-Link, Tape-In, and Clip-In, it might be hard to figure out which extension method is best for you. This is where your stylist can help a lot--they are, after all, trained to know everything about DB’s extensions. But if you’re the kind of client who likes to have an idea of what you want beforehand, or the kind of stylist who needs a little help identifying the best method for any situation, we’re here to offer some assistance. So, to...
Too Close for Comfort
Posted by Donna Bella on
Since we’re on our I-Link series, let’s clear up another misconception about I-Link Hair extensions, shall we? As we scroll through social media, we see a ton of amazing work and mind-blowing creations made with Donna Bella Hair extensions, and, once in a while, we’ll come across a picture that makes us want to reach out and give a stylist a few pointers. So here’s our next pointer to keep in mind when installing those little micro-bead hair extensions: do not get too close to the scalp. Always place the bead about a quarter of an inch away from the...
Tips Not Allowed On I-Link Extensions…
Posted by Donna Bella on
What no tip? We’re not talking money, we’re talking I-Link tips. Let’s continue our series on I-Links with the installation. Pictured below is an I-Link installation No-No. The tips on I-Links should never be poking out this far. Why you may ask? The constant poking of the tips on the client’s scalp when she lays down or pulls her hair up will cause great discomfort for her. Could you imagine walking around with hundreds of little strands poking at your head non-stop? Not good. Another reason why most of the tips should be kept inside the bead is because, over...
Are you using too much product?
Posted by Donna Bella on
The more the better, right? Not always. With some products, a little goes a long way. Sometimes we tend to use too much, which then leads to some technical difficulty when it comes to our hair extensions. Here are a few products that you may be using a little more of than you need. Bond remover. Soaking your whole head trying to remove Tape-In hair extensions is the improper way of removal, leading to a real sticky mess. As with any product, always follow the directions on the bottle. Bond Remover should only be applied once on the tape. Wait...
Tips for Healthy, Growing Hair
Posted by Donna Bella on
Trying to grow your hair out but not having much luck? It could be that your hair isn’t healthy enough to start the process. If your hair is damaged, it will just break off, which explains why it won’t grow. Using a deep conditioner combined with a biotin supplement will definitely help get your hair healthy to start the growing process. Biotin helps stimulate the cells that make your hair grow. As with any supplements, consult your physician before use. You might also use a hair mask to hydrate hair during particularly dry seasons. If you have really short hair like...
