How to have a great hair extension experience
Posted by Donna Bella on
Getting hair extensions can be life-changing. In just a few hours, you can have hair that would take years to grow. There are so many possibilities, and the experience can be amazing. Here are some tips that can make getting hair extensions extra special. 1. Find a licensed and certified stylist. Just because your salon professional has a license doesn’t mean he or she knows how to do extensions. Make sure your stylist has the proper training and experience for the method of extensions you want. Improper installation and removal of hair extensions can cause damage. You can find a...
Moisturizing your hair
Posted by Donna Bella on
Just because it’s 10 degrees below zero, that doesn't mean that fashion and style have to take a back seat. Your hair can still look beautiful and healthy if you take some extra steps to protect it. It’s important to keep hair moisturized and healthy. Heaters can dry out the air and leave your hair thirsty and brittle. Use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners that don’t contain sulfates. You can also try coconut and Argan oils to revitalize dry ends. Make sure to keep your hair clean, though. If you try to moisturize dirty hair, the moisture cannot enter the inner...
Traveling with hair extensions
Posted by Donna Bella on
We’re in the thick of holiday season, and that means lots of time traveling. You can look your best when you see your family and friends without having to pack your entire bathroom with you. Here are some travel tips: Keep a brush in your carry on bag. Sitting with the back of your head against the headrest of a plane or car can cause matting and tangling, especially if you’re trying to get some shut-eye en route. Take a few minutes at rest stops or layovers to brush through your locks. Brush frequently to keep your hair smooth. Pulling...
Adjusting Kera-Link Extensions

Part 3: Kera-Link Kera-Link just might be the toughest method to retouch. But it’s still completely possible to update your client’s extensions and help her look wonderful. Remove the keratin bonds with Donna Bella’s Keratin Bond Remover. Dispense enough on that that the whole bond is covered, but you don’t have to use a lot. Let it rest for a few minutes. The bonds might need help breaking off completely. Use the Hair Extension Tool to squeeze the bond and loosen it. Once it’s ready, you should be able to slide the bonds and strands out easily. Never force the...
Adjusting Tape-In Extensions

Part 2: Tape-In When removing tape, never force it. If the tape isn’t sliding out of the hair easily, add more bond remover. Once the tape has been used, we don’t recommend you reuse it. Donna Bella sells replacement tape that makes reusing wefts possible. Before applying the replacement tape, make sure there is no residue from the original tape. Wash the extension and make sure the hair is dry and place the replacement tape on the top of the weft. But if you can successfully get the tape undone and the adjustment made, the tape will hold for a...
